Josh Berg - email - (415) 706-7891
The apple does not fall far from the tree. In this case, the apple landed squarely at the base! Josh was introduced to the concept of health, nutrition, and regular exercise, by, as luck would have it, his loving father. Josh grew up playing competitive sports and came into his own as a competitive freestyle skier at age 17. Josh was a competitive member of the Squaw Valley USA Freestyles Ski Team from 1989 through 1992. In 1992, he unfortunately suffered an accident which ended his competitive ski career prematurely. About a year and a half later, Josh began excelling in gymnastics. Eventually, Josh would apply these gymnast skills in the water as he is in love with the sport of wakeboarding. On weekends, it is not uncommon to find him hurling his body upside down behind a boat on some placid body of water! Josh utilizes exercise as his meditation and believes that regular exercise and a healthy diet will dramatically enhance every single one of his other endeavors, as well as yours. By day, Josh has built his career in the investment banking business; however, if you have a chance to meet Josh, you will know his other loves are fitness and having fun.

While she has only been teaching fitness classes since 2003, she has been a member of one gym or another all her adult life. Her perspective on ownership comes from her experience as a fitness club member. She knows what makes a workout effective and motivating! Lisa was first introduced to fitness in high school by an excellent cross country coach, and has since mastered long distance cycling, cross country skiing, roller blading and hiking, as well as working out at the gym. She enjoys teaching step, body conditioning and sculpting classes, as well as coming up with ideas for new classes. Away from fitness, Lisa holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering and specializes in building energy conservation. She also sings soprano with various choral groups in the Bay Area.

Tori Engel Sovocool - email
“Love the hills, embrace the hills, make the hills your friend” was my motto during years of running and cycling through the beautiful bay area. I believe “No” only means you have to work a little harder to reach your goal. Tori’s passion for sports started as a young gymnast and continued through many years of competitive marathon running. Her personal highlights include running in Boston, being a guide runner to a disabled athlete in New York and finally achieving a personal best of 3:21 on a flat Sacramento course. As the aches and pains grew from running, Tori turned to triathlon racing for some cross training. Her first passion might have been running, but her life’s purpose is being a mother to two children, wife, dog walker, and chef.
